MAY 2016 HOUSING REPORT
In May, Orlando's housing market saw both home prices and sales rise, but would-be buyers remained challenged by the low inventory available for sale.
The median price of Orlando homes sold during the month of May jumped to $203,000, that's an increase of more than 12%.
Compared to last May, it also marks the first time the median price has crossed the $200,000 mark.
Since August 2008 at the same time, our Orlando homes sales were up 7% over last May with 3,333 homes sold during the month.
Competition for homes has greatly increased because of the low inventory of homes available for sale.
Since last year, the number of homes on the market has dropped by more than 11% with only 10,553 homes currently available for sale.
